MANILA -- Talk ‘N Text reinforcement Ivan Johnson was slapped with a one-game suspension and fined P50,000 even before the start of the upcoming PBA Commisisoner’s Cup.

This after the hulking 6-foot-8 import got into a fight with Blackwater players JP Erram and Frank Golla during a tune-up game last Saturday.

According to report on sports website Spin, PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa handed down the decision after reviewing the tapes.

The tune-up was sanctioned by the PBA.

The fight erupted when Erram challenge Johnson’s layup in the fourth quarter at the Moro Lorenzo Gym in Ateneo de Manila University. The two fell to the ground and after Johnson stood up, he allegedly swung at Erram’s face.

Golla approached Johnson but was hit with a fist to the chest. Cooler heads intervened to prevent the fight from escalating.

Officials were forced to halt the game due to the commotion.

It was not the first time Johnson figured in on-court trouble. Last year, he was fined P150,000 for bumping Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
