PBA: Sa bagong record, Anjo Caram patunay na minsa’y height doesn’t matter

Nitong Linggo lang sa laro sa pagitan ng Meralco at NorthPort, may naitalang bagong record sa PBA.

Tumikada ng 30 puntos si Anjo Caram at naging highest scoring player siya na may pinakamababang height sa liga, ayon sa PBA.ph.

Nakabira ng 11 of 15 field-goal shooting and 5-foot-6 3/4 na si Caram, kabilang na ang 4 na 3-pointers nang talunin ng Meralco and NorthPort 103-89.

Ang matindi pa, ang 16 sa kanyang 30 points ay iniskor niya noong fourth quarter.

"I'm happy for him because he works very hard in practice. He's a guy who has a great attitude, comes to work every day, doesn't complain about anything. When we play him two minutes, when we play him 30 minutes, it doesn't make any difference, he always gives his best so you have to be happy for a guy like that," ani Meralco coach Norman Black.

"I think you could see the response of his teammates when he was making shots, everybody on the team was very happy for him."

Nakasali sa starting lineup si Caram bilang kahalili ni Baser Amer na nagpapahinga dahil sa injury.

Ani Caram, hindi naman talaga scorer ang role niya; nagkataon lang na siya ang naiiwang libre kaya siya ang pumupukol.

"So credit na rin sa teammates ko na pag dino-double sila, napapasa sa akin and thank you kay Lord, kasi sinu-shoot ko naman," aniya.

"Part of the job ko naman, s'yempre as a role player, every time na ipasok ka, kailangan ibigay mo 'yung best mo, magbigay ka ng energy."
