PBA: Nambatac to the rescue, as Rain Or Shine takes series lead vs Blackwater

Rey Nambatac drilled a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left in the game to lead Rain Or Shine to an 83-80 win over Blackwater in the quarterfinals of the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

Ed Daquioag scored 19 points to lead Rain Or Shine, which can close their best-of-3 series on Tuesday.

Nambatac's shot capped an 11-0 run for Rain Or Shine, which trailed 80-72 with 1:34 left in the game clock.

After Ray Parks' 3-pointer put Blackwater up by 8, the Elite never scored again, as Rain Or Shine found its touch from outside.

Carl Montgomery hit a triple and Nambatac scored on a layup off a turnover, both shots coming in a span of 10 seconds to make it 80-77.

After another empty possession by Blackwater, Gabe Norwood buried a 3-pointer to tie the game with 39 seconds left.

Parks missed on his jumper, which then set up Nambatac's heroics.

Montgomery added 17 points and 19 rebounds for Rain Or Shine, which attempted an astounding 50 shots from 3-point range.

Parks led Blackwater with 20 points.
