MANILA--Two Filipino teams will represent the country and battle it out as the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League begins Thursday, June 4.
TNC Predator and Adroit Esports are among the seven teams invited to join the competition, which starts with an open online qualifier made up of teams that have registered on the league website.
After which, the three qualified teams will join TNC, Adroit Esports, and 5 others competing in the season proper, to be held from June 18 to July 12.
Of the 10 teams, eight will proceed to the playoffs to be held from July 15 to 18 in a best-of-3, double-elimination format. From there, two teams will battle it out in the finals on July 19.
The tournament will have a $100,000 prize pool, distrIbuted among the qualified teams as the tournament progresses.
TNC Predator for the past few years has been a consistent qualifier for The International, the biggest global Dota 2 tournament known to have raked in billions of dollars in the prize pool.
Three of Adroit's players, meanwhile, led the Philippines' Team Sibol in the Southeast Asian Games held in December last year.
