NCAA: JRU outlasts Mapua, stays in women's volleyball semis race

MANILA, Philippines – Jose Rizal University (JRU) remains in the hunt for a Final 4 spot in the NCAA Season 95 women's volleyball tournament.

This, after the Lady Bombers weathered a late barrage by Mapua University to seize a 25-18, 25-18, 31-29 triumph on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Dolly Verzosa sparked JRU's win with 17 points and 10 digs in another all-around outing.

The Lady Bombers improved to 3-4, still good for sixth place in the league standings. 

Meanwhile, the Lady Cardinals dropped their fourth straight game. At 1-5, they are in ninth place, just ahead of winless Emilio Aguinaldo College (0-6).

In the girls division over the weekend at the Lyceum Gym, Arellano University made quick work of University of Perpetual Help, 25-14, 26-24, 25-9, for a 2-0 card, and San Sebastian College beat Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-21, 21-25, 25-14, 25-19, to enter the win column.
