MANILA--The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has reported 25 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases among overseas Filipinos as of April 8, bringing the total to 594.
In a statement, the DFA also reported 3 new deaths and 6 new recoveries, noting a decline in the number of confirmed cases from across 37 countries and regions covering the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Of the total number of cases, 362 are undergoing treatment, 164 have recovered or have been discharged, while 68 died.
“The DFA remains committed in supporting global and national efforts against #COVID19 to assist our kababayan abroad so that together #WeHealAsOne,” it said.
Filipinos are among those exposed to the virus in their workplaces overseas, notably seafarers and health workers.
