MANILA--A total of 525 Filipinos are positive for COVID-19 as of Sunday, April 5, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
According to the DFA, 344 of them are being treated, while 132 others recovered or were released from the hospital.
The remaining 49, most of whom were from the Americas and Europe, died.
More than a thousand Filipino seafarers from ships docked in the United States and Europe have been repatriated after being stranded in their respective workplaces due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Worldwide, more than a million people have been infected while more than 58,000 have died as of April 5, according to the World Health Organization.
