Protection from storm surge
A child plays with a home-made toy beside a sea wall barrier under construction in Bgy. San Jose, Tacloban City on Sunday. The Leyte Embankment Project being built by the Department of Public Works and Highways is a 27.3-kilometer long, 4-meter high barrier. The project is meant to protect Tacloban, Palo and Tanauan from storm surges similar to the one that devastated these areas during supertyphoon Yolanda in 2013.
