MANILA - A Magnitude 6.1 aftershock was recorded an hour after the main shock jolted parts of Mindanao island on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The latest aftershock, the highest so far, occurred at 10:42 a.m. southeast of Tulunan town in Cotabato province. It had a depth of 9 kilometers and was also tectonic in origin.
Intensity VI was felt Kidapawan City.
The second highest aftershock was recorded at Magnitude 4.7 at 10:22 a.m. and third at Magnitude 4.6 at 10:34 a.m.
This is the same area where a Magnitude 6.6 temblor struck at 9:04 a.m. Tuesday.
Since the main shock, 22 aftershocks happening in just a span of a few minutes were recorded all in Tulunan town.
