DAVAO CITY - Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go on Tuesday expressed his joy after learning that his son, Christian Lawrence Go, placed 3rd on the October 2019 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination.
His son, who graduated at the De La Salle University - Manila, got 89.50 percent and ranked third of 2,075 who passed out of 14,492 who took the CPA board exam.
"I am very proud of my son. Hindi ko mailarawan ang kaligayahang nadadama ko ngayon (I cannot describe the joy I feel right now)," he said through a statement while with President Rodrigo Duterte in Japan.
Go added that he and his son now had something in common as he also landed in the third spot, but of the May senatorial race.
"Nagkataon na pareho kaming top 3--- ako noong nakaraang halalan at siya ngayon naman sa CPA licensure exams” he said.
(It so happened that we are both in the top 3 -- me in the last elections and him now in the CPA licensure exams.)
The senator also recognized the efforts and sacrifices of his son while in school and wished him more success in life.
"Bilang isang ama, wala akong ibang hinahangad kundi makitang matagumpay ang aking mga anak (As a father, I have no other wish but to see my children succeed). I’m also happy that we now have a new roster of certified public accountants," he said.
The senator also congratulated all the CPA board passers and told them to practice their new profession conscientiously.
