The town of Makilala in Cotabato province declared a state of calamity on Friday due to damage it took from the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Wednesday.
Local disaster management official Sonny Fontanilla said that out of Makilala's 38 barangays, 20 were affected by the tremor.
"We reached the criteria required by law such as 20 percent affected in total population of our place," said Fontanilla.
More than 1,000 families were affected by the earthquake.
Local government units are giving assistance to residents who were warned to be careful due to aftershocks still occurring in Mindanao.
A 4.7-magnitude aftershock took place at 6:56 on Friday, two days after the "moderately strong" temblor took place.
At least 5 died and over 60 were injured in the Wednesday quake.
