MANILA—Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin is unperturbed by the latest results of the Social Weather Stations survey for the third quarter of 2019.
The Supreme Court’s net satisfaction rating for September declined to +41 or good from a record high of +54 or very good in June.
Bersamin’s personal net satisfaction rating meanwhile remained moderate at +16 in September from +13 in June.
“Hindi natin masabi kung ano ang basis nila. You know when you have a plus rating sa mga ganyan you always like it. When you have a negative rating we always look for the causes why we have had negative ratings,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
But the outgoing top magistrate said that whatever the result of the survey is, how they react to it is also important.
“Now whatever comes out of it, we react to it but not to be angry kasi when people tell you oh may muta ka, ah siyempre alisin mo yung muta diba? 'Di naman pwedeng oh wala akong muta awayin mo na ngayon yan. Maghilamos ka muna. Di ba? Baka malaglag 'yung muta. That's just putting it bluntly but that is in short what we do when we have negative publicity,” he said in jest.
“Surveys? That's everybody's right to have a survey,” he said.
