MANILA -- Office work in courts all over the country will be only until 2 p.m. on Monday, September 23, in celebration of National Family Week.
Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio made the announcement Sunday.
The shortened work day is implemented to encourage court workers to spend mealtime with their families, in celebration of National Family Week.
The basis for shortening of work in courts is based on the recommendation from the National Committee on Filipino Family for government agencies to dismiss their workers by 2 p.m. to encourage them to spend mealtime with their families.
Carpio is acting Chief Justice while Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin is out of the country on official business.
The country is celebrating National Family Week from Sept. 23 to 28.
