MANILA - Marilyn has weakened into a low-pressure area while exiting the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

It was out of the country at about 8 p.m., said the PAGASA.

The weather disturbance was spotted 10 p.m. approximately 1,390 kilometers east-northeast of Basco town, Batanes.

Until Sunday night, the southwest monsoon is expected to bring occasional to frequent light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Western Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Sulu archipelago, Palawan and Mindoro provinces.

Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers due to thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol, Calabarzon, and the rest of Mimaropa and Visayas.

Residents of the aforementioned areas, especially those living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to floods and rain-induced landslides, are advised to take precaution.

The PAGASA said sea travel is risky, especially for small seacrafts, over the western seaboard of Southern Luzon, the seaboards of Visayas and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao due to potentially rough sea condition.
