MANILA—Senator-elect Imee Marcos on Wednesday smirked at the notion that Vice-President Leni Robredo could run for president in 2022, saying that’s looking too far ahead.
’Yun lang, huhugot lang ako sa kapatid ko,” Marcos told reporters, referring to the “lineup” of presidential aspirants in 2022.
Marcos is the elder sister of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who lost to Robredo in the 2016 vice-presidential race by some 260,000 votes.
Marcos Jr.’s election protest against Robredo is still pending before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
