CEBU CITY - Police on Tuesday filed a parricide case against Bohol City Board Member Niño Rey Boniel and eight other cohorts for the slay of his wife, Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Boniel.
The charges were filed before the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor's Office after local police finished the necessary affidavit, including testimony on the recovered pump boat allegedly used to dump Boniel's body off Caubian Island in Cebu.
Other testimonies include that of Mayor Boniel's friend Angela Leyson, and the prime suspect's driver and cousin, who had identified Niño Rey Boniel as the one who shot his wife using his own gun.
The camp of the suspect questioned the filing of the case since the victim's body has yet to be found.
The victim was allegedly thrown off a boat in Caubian Island after her husband allegedly shot her dead on Wednesday.
