MANILA--Authorities seized P6.8 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation at a mall parking lot in Bacoor City, Cavite, on Saturday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said in a statement that its operatives, along with officers from the Philippine National Police, arrested 2 suspects from Pasay City and Quezon in the joint-entrapment operation, which yielded about a kilo of shabu.
Violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Attempt and Conspiracy) Article II of Republic Act No 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be charged against the suspects, the PDEA said.
The suspects are detained at a PDEA jail facility in Calamba City, Laguna.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte renewed a threat to kill drug dealers after police seized 756 kilos of shabu in Bulacan.
The estimated value of the seized contraband was P5.1 billion, which is one of the biggest seizures since he unleashed his bloody war on drugs. -- With a report from Reuters
