MANILA- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Monday it is sending 1 million new ballot markers to polling precincts a week before election day.
Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez explained that this is after the poll body discovered some bleeding markers.
"We expect that by the end of this week bago na po 'yung supply ng markers ng lahat ng polling precincts natin," Jimenez told radio DZMM in an interview.
Jimenez assured the voting public that there would be markers on May 13, Election Day.
"Na-address na po natin 'yun and 'yung mga markers na dineliver ngayon ay na-test po natin at maganda po ang quality," he said.
(We addressed the problem already and we tested the new markers and found these to be of good quality.)
"Confident na po tayo na na-solve na po ang problema na ito," he added.
(We are confident that this problem has been addressed.)
