A woman tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Baguio, as confirmed by the local government through its public information office on Friday.
Prior to the development, Baguio had not recorded new COVID-19 cases for 13 days. This recent infection involved a 46-year-old street sweeper.
There are now 15 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city, while nine have recovered.
The woman underwent rapid testing on April 8, before a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test was also conducted on April 9.
Test results were released Friday.
According to the city government, she started experiencing symptoms on April 3 and had herself checked on April 7.
Contact tracing is now underway.
