3 new COVID-19 cases recorded in W. Visayas; total now at 25

The Department of Health in Western Visayas announced three new positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the regional total to 25.

Among the new cases were a 62-year-old female from Bacolod City who died March 31, a 66-year-old female from Aklan, and a 44-year-old female from Iloilo.

According to DOH Region 6, the tally is expected to increase with the recent delivery of test kits and the accreditation of screening laboratory at the Western Visayas Medical Center.

Dr. Jane Roches Juanico, DOH Region 6 spokesperson, said the 3 new cases are all local transmission cases.

Of the 25 COVID-19 cases in the region, 5 have died while 1 has recovered.
