MANILA - Almost a year after his term at the Senate ended, former senator Antonio Trillanes IV has found a way to connect with his supporters.
On Twitter, Trillanes announced he opened a YouTube channel where he will share his vlogs, which he dubbed "Trillanes Explains."
"Welcome to my vlog! Noong natapos ang aking termino, naisip ko, kailangan ko pa ring magsilbi sa ating bayan. Ito ngayon ang aking paraan para mapagpatuloy 'yun," he wrote.
In the first episode of his vlog, Trillanes said he is using his videos to continue his battle against corruption.
"So itong ating adbokasiya ng Magdalo noong 2003 na laban sa corruption at pagreporma ng ating gobyerno, ito ngayon ang aking paraan para mapagpatuloy 'yun," he explained in his video.
(This is my new platform in continuing my advocacy of pushing for government reforms and crushing corruption.)
He also said he will be using his vlog to explain the exposés he previously revealed but weren't given enough attention because of the Duterte administration's distractions.
"Marami tayong very interesting exposés. Ito ay mabibigat na mga issue na hindi napansin dahil nga si Duterte ay may paraan para i-distract at linlangin 'yung publiko. Dito sa vlog natin, hihimay-himayin natin isa-isa ito," Trillanes said.
Trillanes announced his vlog a day after he posted bail for charges of conspiracy to commit sedition for supposedly linking President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to the illegal drug trade.
The Department of Justice had alleged that Trillanes and 10 others were involved in “circulating malicious and scurrilous libels,” “to inflict an act of hate" against Duterte.
