MANILA- President Rodrigo Duterte canceled Friday his supposed visit to earthquake victims in Davao del Sur because he has to catch up on sleep, his spokesman said.
Duterte needs to rest because he had a lot of activities in the past few days, Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said.
The President was instead represented by his youngest son Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte, and Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go.
The 74-year-old leader was initially supposed to visit earthquake victims in Malalag and Padada on Thursday but he was not feeling well.
Duterte in the past had also canceled public engagements due to health issues.
