MANILA — Gazini Ganados highlights her advocacy for elderly care in a music video released over the weekend, coinciding with her ongoing bid to become the 5th Filipina Miss Universe.
Released by Star Music, the music video for “Timeless” sees Ganados in various interactions with the elderly, from dancing, to eating, and having simple conversations.
“Timeless” was written, composed, and performed by JMKO, with additional lyrics from John Kenneth Dael and Mark Penaranda.
Ganados, who was raised by her grandmother while her mother worked abroad, has been vocal about her advocacy of caring for older persons.
In October, she partnered with the Coalition of Services for the Elderly, to help advance the organization’s fight against abuse and ageism or age-based discrimination.
The group is also pushing for universal social pension.
Ganados has also collaborated with Luwalhati ng Maynila, a care home for seniors in Marikina that’s run by the Manila City government.
During the national Binibining Pilipinas pageant early this year, Ganados similarly drew attention to the needs of the elderly, as she shared her personal story of being close with her grandmother.
Ganados is hoping to claim a back-to-back win for the Philippines, following the reign of the 2018 titlist, Catriona Gray.
Should Ganados achieve the feat, the Philippines will become only the second country to have back-to-back winning representatives in Miss Universe, after Venezuela’s 2008 and 2009 reigns.
