MANILA -- History buffs, moms and pop culture geeks, as well as lovers of movies, music and cars, surely there’s something for everyone. Here’s a look some of the activities you can check out this weekend.

1. Linya-Linya Night: A Francis M. Tribute
When: November 16 | 6:00pm
Where: Social house, Circuit, Makati City
Ten years since the passing of Philippine hip-hop icon Francis Magalona, a tribute to the beloved OPM legend will be held this weekend at the Social House in Circuit Makati. Catch Ely Cheats, Ang Bandang Shirley, Dicta License, Joey Ayala, Uprising, KJah x Juss Rye and Rusty Machines as they bring back the Master Rapper’s kaleidescope world with their own rendition of his hit songs. Limited-edition collab Francis M shirts will also be sold at the event.
2. Hungarian Film Fest
When: November 14-17
Where: Red Carpet, Shangri-La Plaza
Expand your taste in movies and catch some of Hungary’s best and critically acclaimed films at the 3rd Hungarian Film Festival or HUFF3. Five full-length films showcase various perspectives of Hungary’s rich culture in this event organized in partnership with the Embassy of Hungary and Film Development Council of the Philippines.
3. Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra concert
When: November 15, 8 p.m.
Where: Cultural Center of the Philippines
The third concert of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s 37th season will feature the SORA Ensemble of Japan on November 15, 2019 under the baton of PPO music director and principal conductor Yoshikazu Fukumura. The program consists of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 9 op.70, Franz Joseph Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante op. 84 in B-flat Major and two works by Arturo Marquez, Danzon no. 7 and Danzon no. 8.
4. Manila Pop Culture Convention
When: November 16 -17, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: The Tent at Solaire
An event for geeks and by the geeks is happening this weekend. The Manila Pop Culture Convention, or ManiPopCon, will host different geekdoms under one convention. The event is set to feature Laro, which will be the center of all the games; a Concourse de Geek which will feature booths by event partners, sponsors and purveyors of toys and VR games; and an Artist Alley which will house Adult collectibles, comic and science fiction and other geek sundries. A post-event party featuring standup comedy, disco and spoken word performances will also take place after the first day.
5. History Comes Alive 2019
When: November 16, 10 a.m.
Where: Greenbelt 3 Cinema 2
Ayala Museum and Ayala Malls Cinemas present "History Comes Alive 2019" with celebrated historian, Professor Ambeth R. Ocampo. Understand our rich culture through an entertaining lecture of past events featuring an all-star cast of Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Ferdinand Magellan. Dip into the pages of history this last three Saturdays of November with the following curated lectures: Nov. 16, "Five Ships and a Voyage"; Nov. 23, "Hello, Rizal, Goodbye"; and Nov. 30, "Isang Bolo Ka Lang."
6. Test Drive November
When: Nov. 14-17, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Mall of Asia Concert Grounds
The biggest outdoor multi-brand test drive event is back. Motoring enthusiasts are invited to try out the best cars available in the market today. Experience first-hand the latest models from BMW, Ford, Honda, Isuzu, Lexus, Mahindra, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Ssangyong, Suzuki, and Toyota.
7. Momzilla Bazaar
When: Nov. 16-17, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: The Fifth, Rockwell
The much-anticipated and last MomzillaPH fair for the year is happening this weekend. Last chance to shop from over 300 curated brands and stock up on your favorite parenting and baby essentials before 2019 ends. Aside from shopping, expect tons of fun activities for the kids as well as informative talks for parents by The Parenting Emporium and The Asian Parent.
8. TLC Festival
When: November 16
Where: Bonifacio High Street, Taguig
Catch one of the biggest food and lifestyle events of the year as TLC Festival goes live with engaging food and lifestyle activities plus musical performances. Guest celebrities include Janet Hsieh, host of TLC’s "Fun Taiwan," esports shoutcaster Rikki-An Quiapon, car racer and businesswoman Angie King, writer and mental health advocate Pam Pastor, plus hosts from TLC and Asian Food Channel Sarah Huang Benjamin, Anton Amoncio, Matthias Rhoads, and May Yacoubi.
Rock out with funk rock band IV of Spades and rock icon Rico Blanco as they round off the night at the main stage. Admission is free.
