ABS-CBN shows, personalities dominate 5th Alta Media Icon Awards

MANILA—ABS-CBN on Sunday emerged again as the most awarded broadcasting network at the Alta Media Icon Awards, hauling a total of 37 awards for its news and entertainment shows and personalities.

The news and public affairs section of ABS-CBN won 8 awards, including "Best News Talk Program" for The Bottomline with Boy Abunda, "Best AM Radio Station" for DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, "Best AM Radio Program" for "Failon Ngayon" (DZMM Radyo Patrol 630) and "Best Morning Show" for "Umagang Kay Ganda."

Dyan Castillejo and her sports show "Sports U" also won "Best Sports Program Host" and "Best Sports Program" respectively.

ABS-CBN's entertainment television shows and its personalities also dominated the annual awards event, including winning awards for "Best Noontime Variety Show" (It’s Showtime), "Best Daytime Drama Series" (Kadenang Ginto), "Best Primetime Drama Series" (FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano) and Best Drama Anthology (Maalaala Mo Kaya).
