MANILA -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Wednesday released guidelines on the operations of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) in the country under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
The DOT has set a venue capacity limit of 50% including suppliers, exhibitors, and operators, adding that only those from MGCQ and quarantine-free areas are allowed to take part in such events.
MICE organizers and facilities are also required to comply with public health standards set by relevant agencies.
The DOT said any violation of its guidelines will result in the revocation of a MICE entity's accreditation, on top of other fines and penalties.
President Rodrigo Duterte is set to announce fresh quarantine classifications this Wednesday as the country continues to see a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Cebu remains under the strictest category, enhanced community quarantine, while Metro Manila is currently under GCQ.
