MANILA -- Luxury hotel Shangri-La at the Fort moves forward with High Street Café dishes and Juiced concoctions now available for pick-up and delivery.
Gourmet food and drink at home is the tenet of Shangri-La at the Fort’s new retail line, which not only includes bestselling dishes like Laksa-rap or Beef Cheeks but also bottles of juice boosters from Juiced by Shangri-La, among others.
“These are the go-to dishes in the High Street Café before COVID. Laksa-rap and Beef Cheeks were always bestsellers. It is a combination of the most popular dishes in the High Street Café and dishes that are easily executed [at home] in the same way as we do here in High Street,” explained executive chef Joris Rycken during an online cooking session with selected media.
Priced at P380 for one full serving, the Kiss my Beef Cheeks food kit comes with three packets –24-hour braised beef cheeks with its own gravy, mashed potatoes, and roasted root vegetables. To prepare, home gourmands need only to boil the sous vide safe food packets in water for 7 minutes and plate.
You taste the long braise of the beef cheeks as it melts in your mouth. A heavy dish with intense flavors due to that tomato-tinged rich gravy, the dish is hefty, thanks to the surprisingly still fluffy and creamy mashed potatoes. (The food kits can be kept in the refrigerator for 3 days).
Besides other High Street Café favorites like Wang’s Wonton Soup, Nenek Chicken Satay, and Double Boiled Soup, Shangri-La at the Fort also offers offer libations both healthy (from Juiced by Shangri-La at the Fort) and heady (from The Back Room via Raging Bull Burgers at the Food Panda app).
With four healthy booster juices available, there’s something for everyone – weight-loss benefits from the zippy Skinny Genes (probiotics, lemon, salt, cayenne pepper, and ginger) or blood sugar regulation and antioxidant nutrients from the tangy Glow and Behold (spirulina, pineapple, lemon, and wheatgrass). These shots start at P250 per bottle and are made from the freshest ingredients and always guaranteed to be made fresh on the same day by Shangri-La’s baristas.
The Back Room fans may also avail of Bee’s Knees, the bar’s signature homemade blended gin with five local ingredients including dalandan, sampaguita and malunggay.
Delivery is available within Bonifacio Global City for a minimum spend of P1,000. Drive-by pick-ups are available from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from the hotel lobby or via your preferred courier. Orders can be sent by messaging High Street Café at Shangri-La via Instagram or facebook.
