MANILA – A new online sensation has surfaced amid this trying time posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
DJ Loonyo, whose real name is Rhemuel Lunio, recently captured the attention of many Facebook users after he did a dance cover of “Fight Song,” which was dedicated to the frontliners.
As of writing, his dance cover has already been shared 158,000 times and has over 328,000 “likes” and more than 18,000 comments.
In his interview on “Magandang Buhay” on Wednesday, Lunio explained the story behind the dance cover which has been dubbed as the frontliners challenge.
“Ever since po, ang dasal ko talaga kay God is ilagay ako sa isang platform na makakapag-inspire ako ng ibang tao. Nung nakita ko na maraming followers 'yung page and fina-follow ng mga tao 'yung dance challenges ko, why not make a dance challenge na makakapag-boost sa morale and spirit ng mga frontliner natin?” he said.
“It would be dope if lahat ng tao or most of the people, gagawa ng challenge na 'yun. Kapag nakita ng frontliners, mabubuhayan sila, gaganahan sila,” he added.
While this and many of his other videos have earned him a lot of admirers, Lunio said this was not really his intention.
“Ayaw ko magpalunod sa ganung klaseng mindset kasi unang-una, hindi naman ako gumagawa ng challenge to sell myself. It’s all about pure and great intentions. Gagawa lang ng positibo araw-araw,” he said.
When prodded about what he is looking for in his ideal girl, he said: “Number one is malapit 'yung pagtitiwala sa Diyos kasi overall package 'yun. Second, of course, is a woman with wisdom. Ang ganda nawawala po kasi 'yun. And responsible din, of course. Kung mahal niya ang family niya, I believe ganun din siya kapag nagsama kami.”
For what it’s worth, Lunio said he is not in any relationship right now.
