MANILA – Katrina Llegado is honored to have showcased the best of Filipino fashion and culture as she took part in Boulevard Carnaval 2020.
Over the weekend, the Filipina beauty queen joined her fellow Reina Hispanoamericana 2019 candidates in strutting down what is considered Bolivia’s biggest runway.
She wore an Ibong Adarna-inspired costume by Filipino fashion designer Rocky Gathercole.
“Boulevard Carnaval 2020, one of the most spectacular and biggest shows here in Bolivia – all about our Hispanic culture, music, and tradition. So happy to be part of it,” Llegado said in an Instagram post on Monday (Manila time).
Homegrown pageant trainer Aces and Queens also shared a video of the beauty queen during the event.
Llegado first shared photos of her Ibong Adarna-inspired outfit last week as she announced that she is a finalist in the national costume competition of Reina Hispanoamericana 2019.
She finished in the Top 5, with Guatemala’s representative proclaimed as the winner.
Originally scheduled in October last year, the Reina Hispanoamericana 2019 pageant was put off because of election-related violence in host country Bolivia.
Weeks after the postponement, organizers announced that the coronation night will be held on February 8, 2020.
It was in 2017 when the Philippines first joined Reina Hispanoamericana, a Latina-dominated pageant.
The country’s representative that year, actress Wynwyn Marquez, won the crown.
