The “Iba Yan” team led by actress Angel Locsin turned the spotlight on the plight of jeepney drivers, who are still unable to make a living due to restrictions on public transport because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In its latest episode which aired on Sunday, Locsin talked to several drivers in Balintawak, Quezon City who are still unable to earn a living since Metro Manila was put on lockdown in mid-March to check the spread of COVID-19.
The drivers said they hope the government will soon allow them to ply their route once again so they can again provide for their families.
Until life goes back to normal for them, “Iba Yan” thought of treating them for a whole day so they could forget about their problems even just for a while.
Aside from providing them with hearty meals, the show also set up different booths including a medical booth, a free haircut booth and a trabahanap booth to help them find alternative jobs amid the COVID-19 crisis.
