James Cameron has something to say to the Avengers. And no, it's not about his opinion on why he thinks people should start getting tired of superhero movies.
It's to congratulate those behind "Avengers: Endgame" for surpassing the $2.18-billion box-office take of "Titanic" and becoming the second most commercially successful film of all time.
"Avengers: Endgame" crossed the $2.19-billion mark Monday, and it now only has "Avatar" (which Cameron also directed) above it in the history books. "Avatar" made $2.788 billion during its run.
"To Kevin and everybody at Marvel," he wrote in an Instagram post showing the Titanic hitting the Avengers logo.
"An iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic. Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You've shown that the movie industry is not only alive and well, it's bigger than ever."
"Avengers" is only on its third week in cinemas.
