MANILA -- It was around two weeks ago when Juan Karlos teased his and his band's collaboration with rap icon Gloc-9, saying that there's something "coming in hot" in a few days.
Their fans finally got to taste what they "cooked" up Friday when they released online the song, "Sampaguita," about the longing and loneliness overseas Filipino workers feel.
Authentically heartbreaking, its best moment is when it parallels the unconditional parental love, and of clinging to whatever they can --in this case the scent of sampaguita-- to evoke precious memories with their children, against the grim reality these OFWs face.
The song is available on Spotify. Listen to it here.
