MANILA — After a conscious departure from being paired on screen in the past two years, real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are finally reuniting on television.
Bernardo and Padilla will lead the cast of the teleserye “Tanging Mahal,” due for release this year. The title was announced on Monday through ABS-CBN’s “Sama-Sama Tayo” trailer, which enumerates the network’s entertainment lineup for 2020 across platforms.
Footage shown for “Tanging Mahal’s” announcement was from the 2018 finale of “La Luna Sangre,” the tandem’s last series, indicating that filming of the new project has yet to start.
What’s so far known about “Tanging Mahal” is that it will be partly set in Mexico, and will be produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, the same group behind “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “The General’s Daughter,” among others.
Bernardo and Padilla, whose “love team” was formed in 2011, mutually decided to pursue separate acting projects after “La Luna Sangre,” to aid their “growth” as actors.
Bernardo was most recently seen in the 2019 blockbuster “Hello, Love, Goodbye” with Alden Richards, while Padilla’s solo film with screen veteran Charo Santos, “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon,” will be released this year.
