MANILA – Bench, McDonalds, Netflix, Shopee, and Angkas are among the most-talked-about brands on Twitter this year, the social media firm said Thursday.
Local clothing brand Bench, known for hiring global celebrities as endorsers, including Korean actors Ji Chang Wook and Park Seo Jun, bagged the top spot in 2019's "Most Tweeted about Brands in the Philippines," Twitter said in a post.
McDonald’s Philippines and its french fries campaign #NationalFrenchFryDay propelled the fast-food chain into second spot.
"Twitter campaigns by brands from different industries, like food, retail, fashion and telecommunication have been popping up here and there to forge closer ties and cultivate better relationships with their audiences," Twitter added.
Netflix Philippines bagged the third spot followed by Shopee Philippines, Sunsilk Philippines, and Samsung Philippines.
Known for its witty advertisements, motorcycle ride-hailing app Angkas copped the 7th most-Tweeted-about brand.
Coca-Cola Philippines, Pond’s Philippines, and Cream Silk completed the year’s list.
Brands seeking to engage its audience and to stay visible on Twitterverse should tap into current issues, be more “relatable and humorous,” and add videos to its contents, Twitter said.
"Launching campaigns on Twitter enable brands to tap and connect with the audience where they are the most receptive," Twitter said.
