MANILA- Robinsons Land Corp. said Saturday it would install rooftop solar panels in 4 more of its malls as it continues to shift to the cleaner energy source to minimize its carbon footprint.
The property developer said Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Robinsons Place Tagum, and Robinsons Place Palawan would soon be powered with solar energy.
“As one of the biggest consumers of electricity, having our own renewable source of clean energy allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and do our share in protecting the environment by using less electricity produced by the burning of fossil fuels,” Frederick Go, president of Robinsons Land, said in a statement.
Currently, 11 Robinsons malls are already powered by nearly 48,000 solar panels, with Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga recognized as the largest mall rooftop solar power facility in the world.
Other malls in the country powered by solar energy include SM City North EDSA in Quezon City, Central Mall in Biñan City, and CityMall in Roxas City.
