MANILA - Grab Philippines president Brian Cu on Thursday announced he has resigned from the ride-hailing and food-delivery service firm.

In a video message posted on Facebook, Cu said he stepped down from the company after 7 years at the helm to pursue other business interests and focus on his family.

"Nais ko pong ipaalam sa inyo na I've decided to pursue other business interests and focus on my family at sa aking mga anak na lumalaki. And it's with a heavy heart that I have to tell you all that I've decided to leave Grab," he said.

Cu assured the driver, delivery and merchant-partners that Grab would continue to support them.

"Pero sa aking paglisan, gusto ko kayong i-assure kayong lahat na itutuloy po natin ang pagsuporta sa ating mga partners," he said.

"All the drivers and all the merchants susuportahan namin kayo sa inyong mga kabuhayan at tuloy-tuloy ang aming pag-coordinate sa inyo para mag-grow kayo with the Grab platform."
