MANILA - Artificial intelligence solutions provider AI Pros said Wednesday it was nearing a deal to "future-proof" one of the top 5 business process outsourcing companies in the Philippines.
The deal will generate P500 million pesos in revenues this year and up to P5 billion by 2019, AI Pros CEO George Yang said. He did not name the BPO company.
The government has been prodding BPOs to upgrade the skills of their workers to avoid possible job losses due to automation and AI.
"If you use the right AI, it could catapult you ahead of the competition. If you use the wrong AI it will destroy your operation," Yang said.
AI Pros wants to deploy its technologies to the Philippines first," Yang said. The deal is "almost finalized," he said.
Instead of replacing humans, AI Pros' product can help agents handle 2 to 3 calls at a time, with the aim of allowing up to 10 simultaneous calls, he said.
AI Pros is hoping to go public via an initial public offering in the US in the next 5 years.
