The best-dressed men at the Oscars 2020

Bong Joon-ho was the big winner in the awards race. These men were winners on the red carpet.

After a grueling awards season full of controversy and drama, the Oscars are finally over and done with. That’s not to say there wasn’t anything to talk about. We’ll leave our coverage of the ceremony and the final tally of our predictions to our resident film critic, but this one’s all about the red carpet—the most important one.

The Academy Awards is the last hurdle between a star and their elusive gold statue, and it’s normally the venue for nominees to pull out all the stops. Unfortunately, save for director Spike Lee’s homage to the GOAT, Timothee Chalamet putting a spin on blue-collar attire, and the usual Billy Porter appearance, there were no showstopping looks worth putting a spotlight on.

Still, we appreciate the timelessness of a perfectly tailored suit. There’s a reason why black tie is called a classic: it’s hard to go wrong with a tux. And if there’s any event that calls for one, it’s movie’s biggest night. Here are the best dressed men at this year’s Academy Awards.
