It’s inspiring to see how Filipinos work together to help one another. Donations and support, for example, have not stopped coming since Taal Volcano erupted. For its part, Wilcon Depot responded by also giving out relief assistance. As the country’s leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, Wilcon recognizes the need to help and contribute to the community during calamities.
Wilcon Depot provided relief donations to the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna, which were all severely affected by the eruption. Wilcon distributed relief goods through the assistance of its local workforce in coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
Along with the support from Wilcon, the employees from all over the country also volunteered in giving out relief supplies including food, water, clothes, toiletries, and other necessities as well as financial assistance. The initiative taken by the workforce of Wilcon is a way of acknowledging its social responsibility and better understand the means of helping those in need.
Aside from that, Wilcon also pledge to donate five hundred (500) units of toilet bowls that will help address the needs of displaced residents.
The sense of responsibility and cooperation is actively needed more importantly during natural disasters. Let us all be cautious and prepared for any unforeseen events, and of course, continue in giving the best help we can in providing hope for our fellow Filipinos!
