Former De La Salle University Green Archer and 2-time UAAP Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala admitted he was excited at the prospect of playing as an import in the PBA.

Mbala is currently on a vacation in the Philippines after being invited by Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero to be a replacement import for injured Romeo Travis in the PBA Governors' Cup finals.

But those plans were shelved since the finals series is now scheduled to start on December 5, giving more time for Travis to recuperate from his hamstring injury.

"I miss the Philippines, the fans," Mbala said on "The Score." "I feel like I'm a little bit of a Filipino. I've been here for so long."

"I was excited to play for the PBA because I want to play basketball at the highest level." -- The Score, ABS-CBN Sports+Action, Nov. 28, 2018
