WNBA star Alana Beard joined former NBA player Cherokee Parks for a series of basketball clinics in Davao and Manila the past week.

The Los Angeles Sparks defensive specialist said she enjoyed her time teaching young Pinoys the basics of the sport.

"I love the discipline, I love the joy, the concentration and the focus that they have they want to get better. They want to soak up everything that you're telling that you don't get that often from kids," she told "Gametime" Thursday.

Beard, the 2017 and 2018 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, was instrumental in the Sparks' title run in 2016.

"Hopefully in the Philippines you continue to grow the women's game. If I can be a part of it, I will be open to it," she said. — GameTime, ANC, Oct. 4, 2018
