Fellow PBA players Beau Belga and Gabe Norwood admitted that like most fans, they were surprised by Greg Slaughter's decision to take a sabbatical from basketball.

Belga, Rain or Shine's "enforcer," said it was puzzling to hear Slaughter taking an indefinite leave, especially after his team, the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings, had just won the PBA Governor's Cup.

"But we have to respect that," Belga said on "The Score."

"It was definitely unexpected... fresh from a championship, you're riding that high," said Norwood.

Belga said Slaughter should join the national team now that he's temporarily free from PBA duty.
