1.7 million Filipinos registered to vote overseas: Comelec

MANILA—A total of 1.7 million individuals registered to be overseas voters in the 2019 midterm polls, the Commission on Elections said Friday.

A majority of them come from the Middle East and Africa, said Comelec spokesman James Jimenez.

They will vote personally at the Philippine diplomatic post or through postal service, and those votes will be counted either manually or using a counting machine (AES), depending on their area, Jimenez said.
