The tail-end of a cold front will bring cloudy rains and rains over parts of northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said Sunday.

Among areas that will be affected by the weather system are Ilocos region, the Cordilleras, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon, said PAGASA weather forecaster Gener Quitlong.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience hot and humid weather due to the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific, he told radio DZMM.

The dry season, he added, has yet to reach its peak.

On Saturday, the heat index or apparent temperature felt by a person was between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius in Quezon City, and peaked at 46.1 degrees Celsius in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, said Quitlong.

"Normal pa rin naman ito (this is still normal)," he said.

There is no storm expected to brew over Philippine waters in the next 2 to 3 days, said the meteorologist.
