MANILA - Rock band Rivermaya and Sarah Geronimo shared the "ASAP" stage Sunday for an electrifying medley of a couple of the band's hit songs.

Geronimo and Mike Elgar jammed on an energy-boosting performance of "Elesi" to open the Sunday variety show.

The band later accompanied Geronimo and Darren Espanto in a cover of its classic rock ballad "214," with Mark Escueta taking the lead vocals to begin the song.

Rivermaya was among the top bands who ushered in the so-called Philippine alternative rock explosion in the 1990s. It is currently composed of founding members Escueta, Elgar, and Nathan Azarcon.
