Members of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines were deployed to man different checkpoints located in municipalities adjacent to Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna as the National Capital Region is placed under “community quarantine” from Sunday until April 14 to address the rising cases of COVID-19 around the country.

The city government of San Pedro complied with the directive of authorities in containing the “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2” (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak by setting up a checkpoint complete with a medical assistance tent.

The checkpoint manned by police personnel, health workers, traffic enforcers, and fire fighters inspects motorists who are coming into their city to ensure that those who are sick will be given proper medical attention.

Commuters who go above the normal temperature are asked to rest for a bit and be observed. If after a few minutes of rest, three temperature checks and the subject still displays high temperature, authorities will escort the subject to an ambulance to be brought to a nearby hospital for further checking.

Also assisting in the checkpoint are traffic enforcers, local firefighters, members of SWAT, and city health workers to monitor the movement of people coming in and out of their city.
