CAPAS, Tarlac—With two more bronze medals on Monday, the Philippine swimming team capped the 2019 Southeast Asian Games with 16 medals, including one gold, at New Clark City Aquatics Stadium here.

Two-time Olympian Jasmine Alkhaldi ended her sixth SEA Games competition with a bronze in the women's 100 meter butterfly (1:00.39) behind two Singaporeans.

It was Alkhaldi's eighth medal of these Games, her best so far in the regional competition, although the gold medal has remained elusive. She home away 2 silvers and 6 bronzes this week.

Meanwhile, Luke Michael Gebbie also collected a bronze in the men's 50 meter freestyle with a time of 22.62 seconds. Two Singaporeans won the race, with Jonathan Tan winning the gold in record fashion.

The Filipino men, on the other hand, shocked the crowd after their disqualification in the race. The reason is yet to be disclosed.

Olympic gold medalist Joseph Schooling and his team went on to win the gold for 3:38.63 performance. Indonesia (3:43.27) and Vietnam (3:4436) occupied the silver and bronze, respectively.
