MANILA, Philippines—Five more Filipino fighters eye berths in the gold medal round in Southeast Asian Games boxing at the PICC Forum Sunday.

Olympians Rogen Ladon and Charly Suarez — along with James Palicte, Irish Magno and Riza Pasuit — seek to overcome their respective foes and join four other national teammates in the finals.

Magno fights Jutamas Jitpong of Thailand in a women's flyweight tussle in the first bout of the day, followed by Ladon's clash with Singaporean Hamid Mohamed in the men's flyweight division.

Suarez is expected to have his hands full against Thanh Dat Vu of Vietnam in a men's lightweight fight, while Pasuit battles Huswatun Hasanah of Indonesia in the same weight category on the women's side.

Palicte caps a busy day for the home squad when he takes on Thailand's Atchai Phoensap in a light-welterweight bout.

World champion Nesthy Petecio, Eumir Marcial, Josie Gabuco, and Carlo Paalam have already clinched finals berths.
