BATANGAS CITY—Nicole Tiamzon delivered in crunch time as BanKo aborted a collapse with a 25-22, 25-19, 29-31, 11-25, 15-11, win over Tacloban at the end of the elimination round of the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference at Batangas City Coliseum here on Saturday.

After squandering a two-set lead, the Perlas Spikers banked on the steady play and composure of Tiamzon in the closing stretch of the fifth frame to give BanKo an 11-3 win-loss record.

BanKo could have clinched the No. 1 spot, but Creamline defeated Adamson-Akari later in the day, ceding the top seed.

Sasa Devanadera led three other BanKo players in double-digit scoring with 17 points coming off 14 attacks and three kill blocks.

Roma Joy Doromal had 15, while Tiamzon got 14 markers including the set-clinching hits in the first, second and fifth sets for the Perlas Spikers.
