MANILA, Philippines -- National University (NU) on Wednesday announced that it has tapped Goldwin Monteverde as the head coach of its men's basketball team.
NU made the announcement via social media, and a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed the development to ABS-CBN News.
Monteverde replaces Jamike Jarin, who stepped down after the Bulldogs' ill-fated campaign in UAAP Season 82. NU compiled an 11-31 record in Jarin's tenure, failing to make the Final 4 in his three years in charge.
Monteverde has been in charge of NU's boys' basketball program, steering them to the championship in Season 81. He previously coached the Adamson University Baby Falcons, as well as Chiang Kai Shek College.
